Carbon steel is a ferroalloy with a carbon content of 0.0218%~2.11%, usually also containing a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus. Generally, the higher the carbon content in carbon steel, the greater the hardness and strength it has, but the ductility is lower. Carbon steel can obtain higher hardness and better wear resistance after heat treatment, therefore it is widely used in many industries that require strength and durability, such as automobile. Low-carbon steel is more welcome for carbon steel metal stamping as it has better plasticity. Meantime, low-carbon steel is also especially suitable for custom metal welding. No unique process during welding and no heat treatment after welding is required. It can be processed with most welding methods.
